The Frontier Regional girls volleyball team improved to 3-0 with a sweep of Amherst Regional, Monday in Amherst.
The Red Hawks won 25-14, 25-16, 25-18.
Lauren Davenport had 12 of Frontier’s 30 kills. Elizabeth Fuqua and Olivia Rosewarne each had 14 assists.
Fuqua had a team-high six aces, while Olivia Deane (six kills) added four and Reilly Isler three.
For Amherst (1-2), Olivia Hogans had four aces and four digs, Julia Feldman added three aces and five kills, and Amelia Beigel finished with 11 assists.
Belchertown 3, Sabis 2 — The Orioles overcame a 2-1 deficit to take home a 25-23, 15-25, 21-25, 25-15, 16-14 victory.
Marissa Courchesne had 15 kills, while Joelle Ouimette added five and Jenna Donovan three.
Madison Mallalieu finished with 13 assists, while Allison Cote added 10. Madison Sefton had four aces.
Smith Vocational 3, Franklin Tech 2 — The Vikings staved off elimination with a tight third-set win, then captured the final two frames for a 16-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-10 marathon road victory.
Belchertown 5, East Longmeadow 1 — Freshman Joe Bianco scored two goals for his first mulit-point varsity game and Matteo Picardi registered his first varsity goal as the Orioles (3-0) cruised at home.
Evan Fournier struck from 35 yards out, while Connor LaFlamme and Zach Lajeunesse (assist) also scored. Chris Tilton made four saves for the O’s.
Easthampton 8, Granby 0 — Adam Johndrow scored three goals and Chris Williams (two assists) had two as the Eagles (2-0, 2-0 Schmid) rolled at home.
Henry Ferland, Ryan Cowan and Tyler Karakula also scored. Nic Soucy had two assists and Sam Colenback added one.
Drew Caires started and made no saves in net before giving way to Joe Brough (no saves) midway through the first half for the Eagles.
Dominic Nomakeo made 17 saves for the Rams (0-3, 0-2).
Frontier Regional 3, Holyoke 0 — Kip Newman and Doug Hanieski scored first-half goals, as the Red Hawks won on the road.
Vick McNutt gave Frontier (2-1, 1-0) a spark off the bench with a pair of first-half assists to help the Hawks to a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Connor Waitkus put things away in the second half, scoring with an assist from Tom Kurkulonis midway through the frame.
Peter Bronke recorded 14 saves to earn the shutout.
Athol 6, Gateway Regional 1 — Matt Morin scored to pull the Gators within 2-1, but the Red Raiders pulled away in the second half.
South Hadley 7, Smith Academy 4 — Bella Yee scored from Kayla Carleton to break a 3-3 tie in the second half as the host Tigers (1-1) pulled away for their first win of the season.
Carleton finished with a goal and two assists, while Savannah Sudyka had three goals, including two breakaways. Corryn Moroney and Breann Foley each scored once.
Maddie Fontaine made two saves in the win.
Karlie Guimond, Bailey McCoy, Amanda Novak and Maggie Herlihy (assist) each scored for the Falcons (0-2).
Crista Kemp had one assist and Taeghan Cavanaugh made three saves.
