The Amherst College football team had a pair of goal-line stands as the Mammoths beat Bowdoin, 24-14, Saturday in Brunswick, Maine.

The Polar Bears drove to the Amherst 1-yard line on the first possession of the game, but the Mammoths forced a fumble and recovered it on fourth down.

Holding a 17-7 lead in the fourth, Bowdoin drove to the Amherst 4, but went four-and-out. Amherst (3-0 NESCAC) then went 96 yards in 10 plays as quarterback Ollie Eberth found Bo Berluti to make it 24-7.

Eberth finished 19-for-26 for 251 yards and three touchdowns. Berluti had 97 yards receiving. Justin Berry and Jack Hickey also caught TD passes.

Eberth led the team with 78 yards on the ground. Hickey had 64 yards rushing.

St. Bonaventure 2, UMass 1 โ€” The Minutemen (4-4-2, 0-1-0 Atlantic 10) outshot the Bonnies 17-2, but fell at home, Saturday.

Amherst 2, Bates 1 โ€” German Giammattei scored the game-winner in the 80th minute as the Mammoths (4-3, 2-3 NESCAC) won at home, Sunday.

Tufts 2, Amherst 1 โ€” Sebastian Derby headed home a pass from Dane Lind, but the Mammoths fell on the road, Saturday.

UMass 3, La Salle 1 โ€” Jenna Thomas scored twice, while Jenny Hipp added one goal as the Minutewomen (9-2, 4-0 Atlantic 10) won on the road, Sunday.

Amherst 4, Bates 1 โ€” Caleigh Plaut, Marve McNamara, Natalie Landau and Alexa Juarez each scored as the Mammoths (7-1-1, 3-1-1 NESCAC) won at home, Sunday.

Amherst College 3, Tufts 0 โ€” Sloan Askins, Ruby Hastie and Juarez each scored the Mammoths on Saturday.

Springfield 2, Mount Holyoke 0 โ€” Amanda Manaster made nine saves, but the Mammoths (3-5-1, 1-2 NEWMAC) fell on the road, Saturday.

WPIT 2, Smith 0 โ€” Naomi Falkenberg had seven saves, but the Pioneers (6-5, 1-2 NEWMAC) fell on the road, Saturday.

Queens 7, Coker 0 โ€” Alexandra Bertuch-Wallace (Florence) made her first appearce for the Royals and scored her first collegiate goal as Queens University of Charlotte (North Carolina) rolled on the road, Saturday.

Smith 3, Plymouth State 0; Wheaton 3, Smith 0 โ€” Amy Hagen had a combined 23 kills, Jody Huang had seven aces, Kimani Freeman added 45 assists and Helena Wiatrowski added 19 digs as the Pioneers (2-13) split at home, Saturday.

Elms 3, Salem State 0 โ€” A pair of former Frontier Regional players faced off as Hannah Adamsโ€™ Blazers swept Sara Coreyโ€™s Vikings at home, Saturday.

Corey had four digs for Salem (10-5). Adams had eight digs for Elms (10-3).
