Erin Harris laced a winner after a corner kick bounced around at the top of the 18-yard box in the third minute, as the Gateway Regional girls soccer team beat Easthampton, 1-0, Monday at Nonotuck Park.

Becca Herman made eight saves for the Gators (7-2, 5-1 Pioneer North).

Easthampton hit the post early in the second half.

โ€œThere werenโ€™t a lot of opportunities for either team,โ€ Easthampton coach Brian Miller said.

Abby Coleman stopped five shots for the Eagles (4-5, 2-3).

Agawam 3, Belchertown 0 โ€” Hope Santaniello scored all three goals to lead the Brownies in Belchertown. Julia Jimenez made 10 saves for the Orioles (3-5-1).

Boys soccer

Amherst Regional 3, New Bedford 2 โ€” Junior Pontes de Veiga, Brayan Rivas Martinez and Zach Watson-Stevens scored to lead the Hurricanes at home. Matt Essig made eight saves in the victory for the Hurricanes (6-4).

Chicopee Comp 6, Granby 0 โ€” Dominick Nomakeo stopped 10 shots for the Rams.

Granby (0-10-1) trailed 2-0 at halftime.

Field hockey

Minnechaug 4, Northampton 2 โ€” Ellie MacDonald had a goal and an assist, as the Blue Devils fell on the road.

Emilia Pelis assisted her goal in the first half, and MacDonald assisted Kate Sullivan, who tied the game at 2.

โ€œWe played the best game weโ€™ve played all season,โ€ Northampton coach Sarah Williams said.

Minnechaug scored on a penalty stroke with three minutes left and put the game away with another goal with 40 seconds remaining.

Ella Moreau made 12 saves for the Blue Devils (2-7-4, 0-3-1).
