The Amherst Hockey Association held Girls Try Hockey for Free Day, Oct. 6 at the Mullins Center Community Ice Rink.

Girls ages 4 and up experienced hockey for the first time and learned the basic skills in a fun, safe environment. This was the fourth year Amherst Hockey Association held the event.

The association will hold a Try Hockey for Free Day for boys and girls, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Community Ice Rink. The event is open to boys and girls ages 4 and up.

Free skate rentals will be provided. Participants must bring winter gloves and a helmet of any kind. Gear will also be for sale at the rink.
