The Easthampton girls volleyball team kept its postseason hopes alive with the 25-15, 25-16, 25-18 win over East Longmeadow, Friday at home.
Easthampton (7-7) needs to beat either Belchertown on Monday or South Hadley on Thursday to qualify for the tournament.
Devney Horne did a little of everything for the Eagles. She had 18 kills, three aces, three digs and three blocks.
Autumn Pinard (three kills) had 20 assists, while Olivia Durand added two kills and five digs.
Hopkinton 3, Frontier Regional 2 โ The Red Hawks won the first set, but their Division 1 opponent took the second and third sets to take control in South Deerfield.
The 16-25, 25-20, 25-16, 20-25, 15-10 loss was on the second for the Red Hawks (16-2).
Lauren Davenport (16 digs) had 18 kills, while Olivia Deane (seven aces, 19 digs) added 14. Elizabeth Fuqua had 29 assists with Olivia Rosewarne chipping in 10.
Reilly Isler had 12 digs.
Lenox 3, South Hadley 0 โ Aislinn Ford had eight kills in the Tigersโ 25-18, 25-21, 25-17 road loss.
Easthampton 3, Gateway Regional 0 โ Nic Soucy and Henry Ferland each scored as the Eagles (13-1) won in Huntington.
Anthony Soucy and Vinnie Catalano each had an assist. Easthampton added the third goal on an own goal by Gateway.
Drew Caires made six saves in the shutout.
John Folley and Preston Coffey each made four saves, while Shane Cooper added one for the Gators (4-8-1), who were mathematically eliminated from postseason contention.
Belchertown 2, Westfield 0 โ Jarod Bolton and Evans Payen each scored in the second half as the Orioles (9-5-1) qualified for the postseason with the road win.
Zach Lajeunesse had an assist and Chris Tilton made four saves in the win.
Frontier Regional 2, Chicopee 1 โ Ben Morse and Connor Bagdon each scored, while Kip Newman had an assist as the Red Hawks (7-5-2, 4-1-1 Moriarty) won on the road.
Hampshire 2, Palmer 1 โ Justin Szwajkowski and Mike McColgan each scored, while Agusto Brasil added an assist as the Raiders won on the road. Colin Boyle made four saves in the win.
Sci-Tech 4, Smith Academy 0 โ Ryan Belina (10 saves) held the Cybercats scoreless until they netted four goals over the final 20 minutes.
The Falcons fell to 4-10, 0-7 in the McGrath.
Athol 5, Granby 2 โ Ryan Shaw scored twice but the Rams fell on the road. Mike McGreevy made 16 saves.
Pioneer Regional 3, Smith Vocational 1 โ Ella Sherman scored and Madeline Weinstein had an assists, but the Vikings (6-6-1, 4-3-1 Pioneer South) fell on the road.
Sydney Cyr made 13 saves in defeat.
South Hadley 6, Amherst Regional 0 โ Savannah Sudyka scored three goals, while Corryn Moroney, Bre Foley and Kayla Carleton each had one as the Tigers (8-5-2) qualified for the postseason.
Emma Rahilly and Taylor Gelinas each had one assist, and Maddie Fontaine made five saves.
Lydia Sullivan stopped 15 shots for the Hurricanes.
Greenfield 3, Frontier 0 โ Raegan Hickey scored twice and Mady Kucheski added the third to lift the Green Wave (15-1, 9-0 Valley) over the Red Hawks (8-5-3, 5-2-2) for the second time this week.
