The Frontier Regional golf team shot a 350 and finished 12th at the state Division 2 tournament, Tuesday at Marshfield Country Club.

Kyle Maynard led the Red Hawks with an 84 (38-46). Connor Moore fired an 85 (43-42), while Mikey Corduff had an 86 (42-44).

โ€œIโ€™m ecstatic with the way my boys played,โ€ Frontier coach Bill Fitzgerald said. โ€œThey were impressive with the conditions and the course. Everyone got a practice round except us.โ€

Fitzgerald said it was cold and windy at the South Shore course. Marshfield is a hilly course with blind shots, and a gusty wind from all directions made it challenging.

โ€œThey played great,โ€ Fitzgerald said. โ€œThey werenโ€™t happy with the scores, but they were playing the best of the best of Division 2 and they held their own.โ€

Despite the recent rain, the course held up.

โ€œThe grounds crew did an awesome job,โ€ Fitzgerald said. โ€œThe course was in great shape.โ€

Lone senior Kalen Evans rounded out the score with a 95 (49-45).

Rowan Blair (49-49โ€“98) and Bryan Baumann (54-50โ€“104) also competed for Frontier.

โ€œThey are looking forward to next year,โ€ Fitzgerald said. โ€œThey are going to work hard in the offseason.โ€

Central Catholicโ€™s Josh Lavallee earned medalist honors with a checks off the final box by shooting a 2-over 74 (38-36).

Hopkinton won its second straight title with a 310. Danvers was second at 316.
