HADLEY — An animal supplies store at Campus Plaza on Route 9 will close later this month.
Petco officials, whose store is at 458 Russell St., have announced that the last day for business at the Hadley location will be Nov. 17.
Open for six years in the complex anchored by Stop & Shop, T.J. Maxx and Liquors 44, the 13,303-square-foot space was previously occupied by a Blockbuster video rental store and Radio Shack.
The company issued a statement: “Petco thanks Hadley pet parents for their patronage throughout the years and hopes they will continue to consider Petco first for all of their pets’ needs.”
The company is referring customers to their nearest location, in the Holyoke Crossing plaza in Holyoke.
The closing comes about 18 months after a PetSmart opened a 17,000-square-foot store at Hampshire Mall, about a mile away, in spring 2017.
