NORTHAMPTON – An inflatable model of a fin whale by Fred Morrison, of Westhampton, will be on display at A.P.E. Gallery in Northampton. On Friday, for Arts Night Out, the gallery will be open from 3-7 p.m. to view the 72-foot-long model inside and out to offer a sense of the size of one of the largest whale species. Made of polyethylene plastic and polyethylene tape, Morrison constructed it in the mid-1970’s while he was a Northampton science teacher and it was first displayed in 1980 as part of an afterschool program at A.P.E.
