Three players scored in double figures as the Amherst College women’s basketball team beat Connecticut College, 61-41, Friday at LeFrak Gymnasium.

Amherst (12-1, 2-0 NESCAC) led 23-11 after the first quarter, and 54-29 entering the fourth.

Maeve McNamara had 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals for Amherst. Hannah Fox added 11 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Madeline Eck had 10 points and six rebounds.

Meghan Sullivan (Granby) started and finished with nine points and five rebounds over 36 minutes.

Men’s basketball

Amherst 88, Connecticut College 60 — Grant Robinson led 12 scorers with 18 points as the Mammoths (12-1, 2-0 NESCAC) cruised on the road.

C.J. Bachmann had 10 points off the bench. Fru Che and Garrett Day each had nine points.

Men’s hockey

Amherst 6, Tufts 1 — Nick Bondra scored one goal and added three assists as the Mammoths (6-4-2, 4-2-2 NESCAC) blew past the Jumbos, who took a 1-0 lead at Orr Rink.

Jack Fitzgerald added two goals and one assist in the win.
