Hat tricks from Devin Spencer and Gabriel Procyk (assist) led the UMass men’s lacrosse team to its third straight win, beating UMass Lowell 14-4 at Garber Field Tuesday.
Jeff Trainor added a goal and three assists. Kevin Tobin had a goal and two assists.
Ben Spencer, Isaac Paparo and Scott Del Zotto each scored twice, while Nick Roy passed two assists for the Minutemen.
Sean Sconone made nine saves for UMass (4-3).
Amherst 18, UMass-Dartmouth 5 — Chase Henley drove in four runs as the Mammoths won in Florida. Kai Terada-Herzer, Joseph Palmo and William Murphy all had three hits and three RBIs for Amherst (3-1).
Hopkins Academy graduate Justin Butterfield threw the Corsairs’ only scoreless inning in the seventh and didn’t allow a hit.
Incarnate Word 19, UMass 4 — Alec Norton had three hits, two RBIs and homered in the second inning in Texas.
Colin Shapiro and Anthony Videtto had two hits each for the Minutemen (4-4), while Logan Greene and Nolan Kessinger added an RBI each.
Gettysburg 6, Marywood 1; Gettysburg 7, Marywood 2 — Nathan Masteralexis (Amherst) struck out two and worked around five walks and four hits for the win in Game 1. Tim Fay (Easthampton) fanned one, walked one and allowed three hits over three innings in relief for the save in Game 2 for the Bullets (4-1) in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Amherst 9, Lake Forest 3; Amherst 8, Suffolk 0 (5) — RonnieMarie Falasco combined for five hits and four RBIs in a two-game sweep in Florida for the Mammoths (4-0). Talia Bloxham threw a shutout against Suffolk, striking out five.
Northwestern (Minn.) 3, Smith 1; Smith 4, Pitt-Greensburg 3 (8) — Tyler Feeney drove in Lydia DeAngelo in the bottom of the eighth inning against Pitt-Greensburg, as the Pioneers (3-3) salvaged a split in Clermont, Florida.
DeAngelo also hit a two-run double in the fourth.
UMass 4, College of Charleston 1 — Ruth Crawford, Anna Napadiy and Jodie Lawrence-Taylor won both singles and doubles matches to help the Minutewomen (8-2) to a road victory.
Mount Holyoke 8, Scranton 1; Lees-McRae 4, Mount Holyoke 3 — The Lyons (5-5) split two matches during their spring break trip.
Ayama Yazawa, Anya Gerasimova and Annissa Aamoum were victorious in both singles matches and their doubles matches against Scranton.
Men’s tennis
Amherst 5, Carnegie Melon 4 — Kevin Ma won the clinching point at third singles. He took down Chaz Downing 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).
The Mammoths (5-0) went up 3-1 before the Tartans rallied. Sean Wei won both at No. 1 singles and as a No. 2 doubles team with Harris Foulkes.
Women’s diving
NCAA Zone A Diving Championships — Mara Boric scored 525.25 points in 12 dives and was seventh, while Katie Polk was 12th with 485.95 for UMass.
Both reached the final after placing in the top 10 of the preliminary six dives.
Virginia’s Kylie Towbin won with 594.6 points. The top six qualified for the NCAA championships.
