Kelsey Meyers hit a three-run single for her first varsity hit, as the Granby softball team beat South Hadley, 15-3, in five innings Wednesday at home.
Julia Gauvin (RBI triple) and Kaeleigh Croteau (two RBIs) added two hits each for Granby (1-0). Lindsay Wenzel struck out eight for the Rams (1-0).
Sarah Bisson went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for the Tigers (0-1). Maddie Fontaine hit an RBI single.
Mount Greylock 13, South Hadley 11 — Breann Foley scored five goals and added one assist in the loss. Hannah Bisson (assist) and Emilee Sowers each scored twice. Abigail Hartley (assist) and Erica Anderson each found the net once.
Bridget Sears and Corynn Moroney dished out two assists each, and Taylor Jackson added one.
Alyson Cote recorded 11 saves for South Hadley (1-0).
Holyoke 3, Granby 2 — Carter Matthews struck out six, walked one and worked around nine hits. He also added two hits and scored the Rams’ second run on a wild pitch.
Ryan Gaughan drove in Colin Kennedy in the third for Granby (0-1).
Chicopee Comp 12, Northampton 4 — Connor Tobin scored all four Blue Devil goals, while Raphael Gomez-Thomas assisted on all four.
Jonathan Marshall made six saves for Northampton (0-1).
