Jocelyn Mettey didn’t flinch, even facing the defending Western Massachusetts Division 2 softball champion. Hampshire Regional’s eighth grade pitcher struck out 12, allowed just three hits and five walks, as the Raiders beat Greenfield, 5-2, in Westhampton Thursday.

“For an eighth grader to hold her composure against a team like that, it was impressive,” Hampshire coach Brian McGan said.

Maggie Rubeck doubled twice and drove in two runs. Bri Sulikowski went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Raiders (5-0).

Smith Vocational 17, Commerce 1 (5) — Savannah Pierce doubled twice and had four RBIs for the Vikings. She also pitched the first three innings to earn the win, striking out six and allowing just one hit with four walks.

Karlie Petlock added four hits, including a triple, and an RBI.

Megan Cone (two hits, three runs) and Ashley Schabacker (three hits, one run) drove in two runs each.

Schabacker pitched the final two innings, striking out five.

Frontier Regional 10, Mahar 7 — Natalie Denkiewicz and Maddie Fifield each doubled and drove in two runs.

The Red Hawks (4-0, 1-0 Franklin) rallied from a five-run deficit after one inning and scored eight in the bottom of the second.

Macy Ring picked up the win in relief, striking out five.

Charlotte Doulette and Olivia Deane each had two hits and an RBI. Lily Spencer drove in a run and scored a run.

Baseball

Granby 11, Pioneer Regional 2 — Michael White struck out nine, allowing just two singles and three walks.

Ryan Gaughan (1-for-3) and Connor Asselin (two hits) each drove in two rums.

Nolan Sullivan doubled twice and scored two runs for Granby (3-2).

Westfield Tech 6, Belchertown 4 — Jacob Torna drove in three runs for the Orioles in a road loss. Zach Bonet tripled, and Preston Lynch singled for Belchertown (2-1).

Boys lacrosse

Belchertown 15, Pathfinder 2 — Ryan Sullivan and Koy Monette each had three goals and an assist in a home win. Owen Palmateer, Owen Sedlacek and Vinny Martel each scored twice, while Jake Condon (goal), Dan Chrzanowski and Matt Talbot all had two assists.

Matt Pacheco and Ben Laliberte found the net for the Orioles (3-2, 3-0 Suburban). Luke Ballard and Griffin Weiss each added one assist. Nick Fellion and Cuinn Lyndon combined for four saves.

Girls lacrosse

Chicopee 11, St. Mary 4 — Katarzyna Wisnauckas found the net twice in a home loss. Serena Griswold added an assist and made two interceptions. Riley Panniello and Emma Archambault sored for St. Mary (0-5, 0-4 Pioneer).

Paighton Ramos made 11 saves.

Boys volleyball

West Springfield 3, Belchertown 0 — Nathan Wright had six kill, as the Orioles lost 25-17, 25-22, 25-21.

Lucas Czarniecki added six assists and an ace for Belchertown (0-8).
