NORTHAMPTON – A 29-year-old Northampton woman accused of breaking into and stealing items from several city businesses was arraigned on 10 charges related to the incidents in Hampshire Superior Court on Monday.
Erikah Marie Carter pleaded not guilty to four counts of breaking and entering into a building in the daytime for a felony; three counts of larceny over $250; one count of larceny under $250; one count of breaking and entry into a building in the nighttime for a felony; and one count of attempting to break into a depository.
The alleged break-ins occurred at the Florence Pie Bar, Sam’s Food Store, Goodwill, and King Street Liquors, and occurred in December 2017 and January 2018, according to court documents. Carter allegedly stole cash, alcohol, cigarettes and miscellaneous items from the stores as well as a cash register from Sam’s Food Store.
Carter was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 12 for a pre-trial hearing.
