There will be a detour from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for West Bay Road in Amherst from May 1 to May 3, according to the town’s Department of Public Works.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured via South Maple Street in Hadley to Moody Bridge Road/West Pomeroy Lane to West Street in Amherst.
Westbound traffic will use the reverse detour via West Street in Amherst to West Pomeroy Lane/Moody Bridge Road to South Maple Street in Hadley.
West Bay Road will be open to local traffic only. The road is closing for reclaiming and asphalting, according to town engineer Jason O. Skeels.
Hatfield’s annual Town Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at the Smith Academy gymnasium.
The town’s annual election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Town Hall.
Absentee ballots for the election are available in the Town Clerk’s office. A written request is required for an absentee ballot to be mailed to the voter. The deadline for applying for an absentee ballot is 12 p.m. on Monday, May 20.
The Williamsburg Democratic Committee will hold a caucus to choose delegates to the state convention on May 11, at 10 a.m. in the auditorium at the Williamsburg Town Offices, 141 Main St., Haydenville.
All people registered as Democrats in the Town of Williamsburg may attend.
The MassDems 2019 convention will be September 14 in Springfield.
