Kate Sarnacki, of Granby, scored four goals and added an assist, as the Springfield College women’s lacrosse team beat Smith, 14-7, in the NEWMAC quarterfinals Wednesday in Springfield.
The Pride have won eight games in a row and will face the second-seeded MIT on Thursday in Cambridge.
Emily Biggs, of Florence, had a hat trick for Smith (9-9). Clelie Fielding (assist) and Bryn Murray each scored twice. Alyssa Schams made eight saves.
Senior Chloe Harris picked up one assist to finish her career with 200 points for the Pioneers.
Biggs added six caused turnovers and five ground balls in her final game. The Northampton High graduate finisher her career with 62 goals and 23 assists.
Hartford 5, UMass 4 (10) — Northampton graduate Devin Kellogg scored the winning run in extra innings for the Hawks. Drew DeMartino drove him in. Kellogg finished with two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.
Nolan Kessinger (two hits), Collin Shaprio (double) and Eddy Hart had an RBI each for UMass (16-21).
