NORTHAMPTON — A car collided with a porch on King St. on Tuesday night, causing “significant damage” to the porch, police said.
At 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of a car accident in the area of brokerage firm Gage Wiley at 120 King St., according to a post by Northampton Police Chief Jody Kasper on the police department’s Facebook page.
The driver was traveling north on King Street when he allegedly drifted into the southbound lane, hit another car, “continued through the opposite lane,” went over the curb and hit the building’s front porch, according to Kasper.
There were no injuries reported, Kasper wrote. The driver allegedly “indicated that he had fallen asleep at the wheel.”
