NORTHAMPTON — Massachusetts State Police reported via Twitter on Mother’s Day that snow and ice had led to multiple crashes on the Massachusetts Turnpike.
The state Department of Transportation announced that, due to inclement weather, the speed limit on the Pike was temporarily reduced to 30 mph from the New York border to mile marker 44.
Westbound lanes on the Pike from mile marker 27.4 were also temporarily closed, although DOT subsequently announced Sunday that all lanes had been reopened.
