BELCHERTOWN — A three-car crash on Thursday afternoon sent two people to the hospital and caused a road closure.
Police said a car was struck by another vehicle as it attempted to make a left turn off of Route 202, or State Street, near the intersection with Maple Street. The vehicle that was struck went into another lane where it then hit another vehicle.
Two people were transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with non-life threatening injuries, according to David Squires, communications director in the Belchertown Police Department.
Traffic was backed up for several miles and Squires said it took an hour to reopen the road.
