NORTHAMPTON — One person was sent to the hospital following a three-car crash near Exit 19 on Interstate 91 north that backed up traffic into Holyoke on Tuesday morning, state police said.

According to the Massachusetts State Police barracks in Northampton, three cars were involved in an accident around 7:50 a.m. that closed the left lane of traffic, causing significant traffic delays.

A state police dispatcher said there were no life-threatening injuries, but that at least one person was sent to Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

The road has since been cleared and reopened, police said.
