Christmas tree story an inspiration of light

I didn’t mind being stuck on the Coolidge Bridge at “rush hour” one night last week. It gave me a chance to savor the glorious full moon rising behind me, the surprise of a magical Christmas tree floating on the river to my left, and bright, twinkling Venus and buddy Saturn on the horizon ahead.

How lovely to read the inspiring story behind the tree in the next morning’s Gazette! Heartfelt thanks to Mr. Damon, Mr. Britton and Mr. Lamica for their gift to us all, which exemplifies my favorite thing about the holiday season –  the opportunity to give and receive light (in this case, literally and figuratively) at this darkening time of year.

Their energy, enthusiasm, generosity and creativity is an inspiration. I remember Russ Myette’s tree fondly (and love the story of the first one being plunked into a hole in the ice). I plan to find reasons to be on the bridge at rush hour again this season to remind myself to find ways to shine some light as well.
