HOLYOKE — A tanker truck carrying propane rolled over on an I-91 on-ramp Monday morning, causing a highway shutdown in Holyoke.
The truck rolled over around 10 a.m. while turning from Cherry Street to I-91 north at Exit 16, according to a statement from Holyoke Fire Capt. Kevin Cavagnac. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Keene, New Hampshire, was not injured, Cavagnac said.
A state hazmat team responded, according to Cavagnac’s statement, and in the afternoon, two cranes were used to turn the tanker upright.
The interstate in Holyoke was shut down in both directions while the tanker was righted, according to state police, and a section of Cherry Street was closed, according to Cavagnac.
