The UMass women’s indoor track & field team won six events and scored 120½ points to win the Atlantic 10 Conference championship, which concluded Sunday at Rhode Island.
Jada Harris won three of those events, broke an old program and set a conference record in the process.
The senior won the high jump, long jump and 60-meter hurdles. She took down a 34-year old school record in long jump, leaping 19 feet, 3½ inches to place second. She set a meet record in winning the 60-meter hurdles in 8.45 seconds.
Kira Kopec was first in the pentathlon for UMass. Lindsay Witt won the 200 dash in 24.72 seconds. Emilie Cowan won the 500 in 1:13.18.
New England Division III Championships — Ella Rossa won the pentathlon and the 60-meter hurdles to pace fourth-place Amherst College at Middlebury.
Patriot League Championships — Boston University freshman Sophia Jacobs-Townsley (Amherst) won the 5,000 in 16:55.17, Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Colby 65, Amherst 61 — Eric Sellew finished with 13 points, while Garrett Day and Grant Robinson each had 12, but the Mammoths (18-8) fell in the NESCAC semifinals, Saturday at Tufts. Tim McCarthy added 10 points.
Richmond 95, UMass 71 — Freshman Tre Mitchell had 18 points and seven rebounds but the Minutemen (13-16, 7-9 Atlantic 10) fell to the Spiders (22-7, 12-4) at the Robins Center, Saturday.
Dibaji Walker added 19 points and seven rebounds off the bench for a UMass team that was 26 of 63 from the floor on the night. Richmond shot 55 percent from the floor.
Bowdoin 74, Amherst 60 — The third-seeded Polar Bears (24-2) used a 15-0 run early in the second quarter to pull away from the No. 2 Mammoths (22-4) in the NESCAC semifinals, Saturday at Tufts.
Madeline Eck had 18 points, while Cam Hendricks added 13 for Amherst. Maggie Shipley and Hannah Fox each chipped in 11.
UMass 21, Ohio State 16 — Kaitlyn Cerasi and Stephanie Croke each scored three goals in the first half as the 19th-ranked Minutewomen (3-1) carried their early lead throughout the second half, Sunday in Milton, Georgia.
Cerasi and Croke each had four goals. Brinley Anderson, Emma Dotsikas and Olivia Muscella had three apiece.
Amherst 11, Hamilton 2 — Maia Noyes (assist) had three goals, while Isabelle Sennett (assist) and Katherine Malone scored twice apiece to power the Mammoths (1-0), Sunday.
Bridgewater State 17, Mount Holyoke 6 — Caroline Flynn scored three goals for the Lyons (2-1) on Saturday.
Smith 16, Curry College 6 — Bryn Murphy had five goals, while Shannon McGinnis and Liz Lee each had three as the Pioneers (2-1) rolled on Saturday.
Navy 4, UMass 2; Navy 17, UMass 5 — Ryan Coleman had four hits, while Anthony Videtto and Michael Rounds each had three during the doubleheader loss on the road, Sunday. Nolan Kessinger homered for UMass in Game 1.
Navy 10, UMass 0; Navy 4, UMass 2 — Kessinger had a hit in each game of the doubleheader loss on the road Saturday.
Trinity 5, Amherst 3 — Noah Gilreath, Nick Bondra and Pieter von Steinberg scored but the Mammoths (9-12-4) closed their season with a loss Saturday in the NESCAC quarterfinals.
Bates College 6, Mount Holyoke 3 — Ching-Ching Huang (No. 1 singles), Catherine Peabody (No. 3 singles), and the second doubles team of Catherine Peabody and Anya Gerasimova won for the Lyons on Saturday.
New England Division III Championships — Ryan Prenosil won the 600, the 4×800 relay took first and Troy Colleran won the heptathlon for Amherst, Saturday at Springfield.
Women’s diving
NCAA Regional Championship — Lindsey Ruderman won both 1-meter and 3-meter diving titles at Springfield. Williston graduate and Granby native Gabriella Mercier was third in both events for Williams.
