J.M. Sorrell, in her recent March 4 column (“Warren is the unifying leader for US”) says that she was wants to avoid criticizing Bernie Sanders because “his cult following may come after me with pitchforks.”

Then she launches a six-paragraph screed against him filled with name calling and unsubstantiated claims. I’d correct her on some points, but she’s smart and she knows where to find information. But columnists aren’t here to educate, they’re here to persuade, and in this case polemicize by bringing some “fightin words.” I get it.

But I want her to know that if any injuries — pitchfork-related or otherwise — do result, we Bernie folks are fighting for her — and everyone — to get the medical care they need, whenever they need it, and not to go broke or bankrupt paying for it. We think that’s a human right.
