LEVERETT — A search for a man missing from a Dudleyville Road property remains suspended as Leverett Police continue to seek more information from the public, according to Leverett Police Chief Scott Minckler.
Minckler wrote in an email Wednesday that the extensive search for Richard Drury, which involved more than 55 emergency responders and others in the woods on Dec. 15 and 16, was suspended by the Dec. 17 snowstorm. But Minckler said police are continuing to work on the case.
“We are still attempting to locate relatives of Mr. Drury,” Minckler wrote. “We are following up with all information we receive.”
Drury, described as a white man, 5 foot, 5 inches tall with thinning white hair and a white beard, was last seen in his driveway on Dec. 11 or Dec. 12. On Dec. 14 emergency calls were made about his welfare when his dogs were barking from the property and appeared to be both hungry and affected by the elements.
Drury is believed to be wearing blue jeans and a tan brown coat.
Anyone with information about Drury’s disappearance should contact Leverett Police at 548-4994 or through Shelburne emergency dispatch at 625-8200.
