The UMass women’s basketball team’s season isn’t over just yet.

After making a run to the Atlantic 10 championship game this past weekend, the Minutewomen earned an at-large bid to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), which was announced Monday night. It’s the first postseason tournament appearance for UMass since 1998.

The Minutewomen take on Villanova in the opening round, with tip off slated for 8 p.m. on Friday. UMass is seeded in the Charlotte Region.

The Minutewomen (14-7) are one of 32 teams selected to the WNIT. Fellow conference foes Dayton, Fordham and Saint Louis were among those selected.

The Wildcats (15-6) were the No. 5 seed in the Big East tournament and made a run to the conference finals, falling to UConn.
