Maddie Pond scored 22 points, as the Hampshire Regional girls basketball team beat Northampton 64-38 on the road Tuesday to open the Fall II season.
The senior is 25 points away from 1,000. The teams will meet again at 6 p.m. Friday in Westhampton.
Lila Labrie added 12 points, 10 in the second quarter as the Raiders took the lead. Delaney Marek scored 13 points and helped Hampshire close strong.
Riley Allem made three 3s and led the Blue Devils with nine points.
Jordan Hutchins and Chloe Denhart had eight points each. Ava Azzaro scored six.
Holyoke 69, Sabis 52 – Bianca Ortiz led three Purple Knights in double figures with 25 points. She hit three 3s.
Yamaya Perez scored 19 points, while Taryn Ryan had 15 on the road.
Monson 36, Belchertown 32 – Gina Camerota scored nine points on three 3s in a road loss for the Orioles.
She hit two of them in the first minute and staked Belchertown a 6-0 lead, but Monson built a 19-8 lead at halftime.
Jessa Troy added eight points and eight rebounds, while Erin Lucas hit two 3s and scored six.
Macie Bolton had two points and 13 rebounds in her varsity debut.
Monson 62, Belchertown 49 — The Mustangs outscored the Orioles 13-2 in the first quarter and maintained that lead on the road.
Jordan Lanoue led Belchertown with 16 points. Tyler McDonald scored 14 points and Henry Audette had eight points in the loss.
Sabis 58, Holyoke 53 – Brian Cristobal led the Purple Knights with 32 points in a home loss. He hit eight 3s.
Moises Silva added eight points for Holyoke.
