Red, white and blue suits Zac Jones, apparently.

The New York Rangers rookie defenseman and UMass product was named to the 2021 U.S. Men’s National Team roster for the upcoming 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship on Thursday. The tournament runs from May 21-June 6 in Riga, Latvia.

The team will depart the U.S. May 16 and open the tournament May 22 against Finland. Jones was named a second-team All-American and helped UMass win its first national championship last month.

He then signed with the Rangers, who drafted him in 2019, and played 10 games to end the season. The Rangers didn’t make the postseason.

Jones helped the U.S. win a gold medal at the 2018 World Junior A Challenge and represented the United States at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship.
