BELCHERTOWN — A fire at a single-family home caused extensive damage and killed two cats Monday morning, according to Belchertown Fire Chief John Ingram.
Belchertown firefighters, with mutual aid from Granby, Pelham and Amherst fire departments, responded to the blaze at 146 Allen Road around 9:41 a.m.
The departments were also supported by the Department of Fire Services rehabilitation unit.
No occupant of the home or firefighters were injured, Ingram said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal with assistance from Belchertown Fire and Belchertown Police.
