Madelyn Fagan and Jazlynn Hayes had a goal and an assist each for Frontier in a tight 2-1 victory over Easthampton on Wednesday in South Deerfield. 

Abigail McClaflin scored Easthampton’s goal. Frontier keeper Candice Wells-Robinson made eight stops, and Easthampton goalie Addie Barr made four saves. 

Smith Academy 0, Pope Francis 0 – The Falcons and Cardinals played to a stalemate on Wednesday. 

Keeper Madison Zononi almost singlehandedly earned the tie for Smith Academy, making 17 saves to preserve the shutout. Pope Francis goalie Riley Longo stopped two shots. 

Gateway 3, Hampden Charter 0 – Anna Sakaske, Kaitlyn Maynard and Willow Hicks each scored a goal in Gateway’s shutout win over Hampden Charter. Sakaske also picked up an assist. 

Gateway goalie Jayliana Rivera made one save for the shutout.

Hopkins 1, Drury 1 – Helen Vissas scored Hopkins lone goal in a tie against Drury. 

Keeper Cassidy Fyden stopped five shots for the Golden Hawks. 

Boys soccer

Hampshire 4, Monson 0 – Aidan Miklasiewicz scored a pair of goals and notched an assist in a shutout win over Monson.

Aidan Moynahan and Jesse Connors also scored for Hampshire, and Mike Thibault and Dan Martin each finished with an assist. 

Liam Pond made two saves for Hampshire. 

Belchertown 4, Westfield 2 – Jack Holt put away all four goals for the Orioles in a road win.

PVCICS 6, St. Mary’s 1 – Rafi Razmi and Clayton English scored a pair of goals each en route to a five-goal victory over St. Mary’s.

Teddy Scott (1G, 1A), Nolan Gage (1G), Owen Wallace (1A), AJ Addison (1A), and James Scott (1A) also found the scoresheet for the Dragons. PVCICS keeper Pom-Richard Ang stopped five shots in the win. 

Field hockey

East Longmeadow 1, Smith Academy 0 – East Longmeadow’s Emma Gosslain scored the lone goal against Smith Academy. 

Falcons goalie Hadley Szynal was a wall in net yet again, making 23 stops to keep the game within reach. 

Girls volleyball

Frontier 3, Westfield 0 – Frontier stayed undefeated with a three set victory (25-17, 25-23, 25-12) over Westfield. 

Caroline Deane had a strong night, finishing with 11 kills, five service aces and 15 digs. Setter Sydney Scanlon had 24 assists and two aces, Eve Dougan had eight kills and 10 digs, and Jillian Apanell hda seven kills and two aces. 

Easthampton 3, Lenox 1 – The Eagles needed four sets (25-20, 26-24, 16-25, 25-17) to secure victory over Lenox. 

Maggie Barr posted 18 kills and 13 digs and Kayley Downie finished with 24 digs and three aces. 

Boys golf

Palmer 14 ½, Amherst 9 ½ – Piet Hartman earned medalist honors with a 40 score and won his match 3-1, but the Hurricanes fell in a close match to Palmer on Wednesday. 

Ben Scott (43) and Nate Hawkins (46) also won their matches for the Hurricanes. 

Hampshire 14 ½, Mohawk Trail 9 ½ – The Raiders won five of six matches against Mohawk Trail on Wednesday. 

Hampshire’s Brayden Fennessy shot the low round of the day with a 39 to win his match. Levi Zielinski (40), Desmond Galpin (51), Pryden Messier (49) and Camden Jarosz (50) also won their matches.
