GRANBY — Sameer Hanafi led four Easthampton boys basketball players in double figures with 16 points, as the Eagles held off Granby 65-49 on the road Thursday. He hit four 3s.

Easthampton (4-2) led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter before Granby (3-3) inched back.

Carter White, who scored a career-high 28 points, sank a layup with 2 minutes, 49 seconds left to cut the lead to 8 (57-49), but the Rams couldn’t pull any closer. Gavin Moreno hit a 3 with 3:16 left that shaved the lead to single digits for the first time since the first quarter.

The Eagles built a 31-20 lead at halftime and would have been up more if White didn’t pour in all 11 of Granby’s points to help keep pace.

Mateo Navarro added 15 points for Easthampton, while Matthew Bacis scored 11 and Jabari Sifrin had 10.

Robert L’Abbee contributed nine points for the Rams.
