
On the road in an unfamiliar spot as a higher-seeded team in the MIAA Division 3 Round of 32, the Belchertown boys soccer team showed why it can never be counted out in the month of November on Saturday.
The 23rd-seeded Orioles scored twice in the first half and held on, springing the road win over No. 10 Nauset and booking a spot in the Round of 16.
Belchertown (10-5-4) will hostย No. 26ย Dighton-Rehobothย (10-1-8) in the Round of 16 on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Dighton-Rehoboth upset No. 7 Blackstone Valley Tech, 2-1, on Sunday.
Trevor Weiss and Ian McDonald tallied goals for the Orioles, both assisted by Tanner Lockwood. Goalie Jack Mandeville made five saves in net to pick up the win.

No. 3 Hampshire 2,ย No. 30 Manchester Essex 0 โ Two first-half goals were enough for the Raiders under the lights at Dorunda Field in Westhampton on Saturday night.
Hampshire (16-0-3) will host No. 19 Pittsfield in the Round of 16 on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
โOwen Millay was a rock on the defensive end, and Colin Holt provided a sure set of hands on a tough playing surface,โ Hampshire coach Dan Moynahan said.
Dan Martin buried a penalty kick and Brendan Stevenson also tallied, with an assist from Jesse Connors. Holt made six saves to pick up the shutout.

No. 10 Hampshire 3,ย No. 23 Tyngsborough 0 โ The Raiders did all their damage in the first half, rolling into the Round of 16 with a 3-0 win on Saturday.
Addie Miklasiewicz, Anna Puttrick and Maisie Bowler all scored goals for Hampshire (9-7-2), which awaits the winner of Northbridge and Ipswich in the next round.
Puttickย added an assist, and goalkeeper Makena Rogalski stopped five shots in net.
No. 14 Lunenburg 4, No. 19 Easthampton 2 โ The Eagles finished their season 13-6 overall, falling in the Round of 32 on the road Saturday in Lunenburg.

No. 9 Millis 6,ย No. 24 Smith Academy 0 โย The Falcons saw their impressive season come to a conclusion with a 6-0 loss on the road in Millis on Sunday.
Smith Academy, which defeated Avon in the state tourney preliminary round, finished its season 13-4-3.
