HADLEY — Polls will be open Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m. at the Hadley Senior Center for voters to decide the fate of Hopkins Academy locker room renovations and purchase of a new ladder truck for the fire department.
Both the locker rooms, at a cost of $1.07 million to refurbish them for the first time since they were built in 1965, and the firetruck, at a $2 million price tag, are being considered as Proposition 2½ debt-exclusion projects, and need majority support, after being approved at a special Town Meeting in October.
The latest information provided by town officials shows that for an average home assessed at $439,800, the tax impact would be $88 per year and would be complete in 10 years. That impact is based on other items falling off the town’s debt.
