
โ Died, at Granby, on April 7, Mr. William Taylor, aged 35. The deceased went to his barn to feed his horse, ascended the scaffold directly over the horse, and was moving some hay when the flooring broke and he fell in the rear of the horse, which, frighted at his sudden appearance, kicked him violently in the breast. He lay in the farm about two hours in intolerable agony, and then without assistance crept into the house where he died.

At 1:30 p.m., Mrs. Coolidge will press a button opening the doors to the exposition and immediately Mr. Coolidge will deliver an address to be carried by wire to Chicago for broadcasting by radio.
โ Two optimistic Easthampton youths were brought into district court this morning on charges of drunkenness. One thought he had the right to go to a wedding and indulge freely in liquid refreshments and the other stated that he was ready to take what punishment was coming to him.
โ Some 2,000 new jobs for adults may be available this summer in tobacco fields in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut, as Puerto Rican migrant workers will not be recruited this year. Tobacco workers will be paid $2.28 per hour. Most will not live in the tobacco camps, which for the past 22 years have housed migrant workers.
โ Methodists in Easthampton and Northampton voted this week to merge the two congregations effective July 1 and to construct a new church building on land at the intersection of Route 66 and Wilson Road in Northampton. The Northampton church sold its Elm Street property to Smith College last summer and purchased the Route 66 land from the Elks.
