As a former paraeducator at Jackson Street School, who moved into a construction-industry job because I couldn’t afford to start a family and live in Paradise City on a paraeducator’s income, I am proud to be working on Niko Letendre-Cahillane’s campaign for City Council in Ward 1. In the time that I’ve known him, Niko has shown a combination of strong values and a collaborative attitude that make him right for the council.

In organizing, he’s someone you can count on. Niko is a strong supporter of public-school funding and knows that the children of our city need to come first, but he also has a comprehensive perspective on affordability in this city. He will fight for more affordable housing so that the staff at our schools can live in the community they serve. He will fight for funding at the municipal level and organize with the community to demand more from our state and federal governments. We need a nationwide democratic socialist movement that will make our towns and cities affordable for the people that make them run, while fully funding our social services that have been gutted by decades of austerity.

Niko will fight for Northampton today and help connect Northampton to a wider movement. If you want to see better school funding and a comprehensive approach that puts working class people first, vote for Niko Letendre-Cahillane in the preliminary election on Sept. 16. Together we can win a Paradise City that you can afford!
