Tired of worrying about health care, housing, and food costs, subsidy cuts, and job shutdowns? Rejoice. Yacht sales in America are up dramatically according to reports in the New York Times and yachting magazines.

This is because the Big Beautiful Bill has reinstated the full 100% Bonus Depreciation for yacht purchasers, a tax windfall originally created during Trump 1.0. So don’t hesitate. Buy a yacht now. And keep in mind, as many buyers do, that you get more bonus for the buck if you buy a superyacht (one over 24 meters long).

The bonus, together with the rapid rise in American billionaires and multi-millionaires like yourself, has already led to burgeoning sales especially among younger people, so this is a special opportunity for you youngsters out there.

Be careful when you buy because you’ll have to pay back some of the bonus when you sell, unless you combine your purchase cleverly with other tax and investment strategies that will allow you to avoid taxes altogether. In a word, talk to your accountant, your banker, and your lawyer before you buy to get the most out of your yacht.

Though I’ve never believed that a “rising tide lifts all boats,” it sure is good to know that our sinking tide can lift at least a few ships. So don’t just dream about yachts. Buy one. Circumstances couldn’t be better.
