JEAN A. FYDENKEVEZ

Amherst, MA – Jean (Marcinowski) Fydenkevez, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Center for Extended Care at Amherst. She was born September 12, 1939, in Northampton, MA, to the late Henry and Mary (Kowalski) Marcinowski. She graduated from Frontier Regional High School, Class of 1957.

Jean was a devoted wife, beloved mother, and cherished member of the community. A dedicated homemaker throughout her life, she poured her heart into her home, finding great joy in cooking and baking for those she loved. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, and her recipes, made with care and tradition, brought family and friends together.

She was a faithful member of Most Holy Redeemer Church, where she found spiritual strength and a deep sense of community. One of her greatest joys was participating in the church’s annual pierogi festival, a much-anticipated fundraiser that combined her love of cooking with her commitment to service.

She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, John F. Fydenkevez, and her daughter, Cheryl Fydenkevez. She will also be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews, to whom she was a source of kindness, support, and love.

Jean was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Luczai, Mary Bartus, Victoria Kulikowski, Irene Kacpura, and Patricia Fydenkevez, and her brother, Henry Marcinowski.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the Center for Extended Care at Amherst.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 9th at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 120 Russell Street, Hadley, MA, with the Fr. Douglas McGonagle officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery, 134 Huntington Road, Hadley, MA.
