Belchertown, MA – Kenneth P. Henneman, 74, of Belchertown, passed away at home on December 31, 2025. Born April 2, 1951, in Northampton, MA, Ken was the son of Arthur and June (Sanford) Henneman and lived in Belchertown his entire life. He graduated from Belchertown High School in 1969 and earned an Associate Degree from Springfield Technical Community College in 1971. Ken worked as a Rural Carrier for the US Postal Service in Belchertown from 1971 until his retirement in 2010 and was very proud to have received the One Million Mile Award in 2005. He also ran Henneman’s Service Center in the town center for 25 years after buying the station from his father.
To say Ken was active in the community would be an understatement. He was a longtime member of the Belchertown Historical Association and Stone House Museum, as well as an active member of Belchertown United Church of Christ (BUCC) for more than 50 years, serving on multiple committees and as a Deacon throughout the 1990s. He was always ready to lend a hand to any friend or community group who had a need.
He was also a member of many recreational organizations over the years, including the Belchertown Snowmobile Club, several Bowling Leagues, Cold Spring Country Club, and for more than 50 years was an active member of the Lake Wickaboag Boat Club in West Brookfield where he served as Commodore for many years. He enjoyed golf outings, motorcycle rides and ski trips with various groups of friends.
Ken leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Katherine (Dziuba), and three children, Kathryn “Katie” Henneman, Kimberly Curtin and her husband Michael of East Longmeadow, and Brian Campbell of Philadelphia, as well as two sisters, Linda Snow and her husband Kenneth, and Marnie Henneman, all of Belchertown, and many nieces and nephews and their children. The family wishes to thank Katie’s caregivers past and present, particularly Cheryl, Deb, and Terrilyn for doing double duty with their care of Ken over the past few years as well as the many friends who drove him to and from treatment at Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, from 9:00-11:00AM with a service to begin at 11:00AM, both at the Belchertown United Church of Christ, Park Street, Belchertown, MA.
