Guest columnist Emmett Barcalow is baffled and appalled that 40% of Americans still support President Donald Trump [“Why do 40 percent of Americans still support Trump?” Gazette, Jan. 20]. Basically Republican voters are a very loyal bunch, and a good amount of them will support and defend their party’s leaders in most matters. I hope that this accounts for most of the 40% because the rest of the list is not very pretty and there is still some belief that the United States is better than a nation of prejudiced hate-mongers.
The only hope is if U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi finds her moral compass and releases all of the Epstein files before she resigns. Because when it comes to children, that is pretty much everyone’s red line.
