Elodie Fagnand

Easthampton, MA – Elodie L Fagnand of Easthampton, died peacefully May 31 at Baystate Hospital in Springfield. Elodie was the daughter of the late Leon Fleury and Louise (Chicoine).

Elodie started her Nursing career in 1960 at Providence hospital in Holyoke after attending nursing school there. She loved babies and worked on the Pediactric floor for many years . She was one of the first woman in Massachusetts to become an I.V. Therapist. She continued her nursing career until her retirement in 1987. After her retirement, she worked at the family business Fleury Lumber Company in Easthampton. In true family business fashion she enjoyed working along side her husband, her sons, and her 3 grandchildren at FLC.

She loved her vegetable gardens and watercolor painting. Besides her family, her greatest love was vacationing at Goose Rocks Beach in Maine every summer, where the family loved playing games in the cottage and the beach. There are so many wonderful memories of GRB.

She leaves her son David and his wife Melissa of Easthampton. Grandchildren David (Shelby Jordan) of Hermosa Beach, California, Alexander (Elizabeth) of Westfield, and Catherine (Chase Francis) of Holyoke. Her cherished great grandchildren, Alexa, Grace and John Fagnand of Westfield and Lucas and Aurora Francis of Holyoke.

Her husband David pre-deceased her in 2016 and her son Thomas in 2007.

The family would like to thank her ICU caregivers at Baystate, especially Dante whom gathered fellow nurses and held a Nightingale service in Elodie’s honor.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, June 5th from 3-7pm at the GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 18 Adams Street, Easthampton. Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 6th at 10am and meet directly at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams Street, Easthampton.
