Middlefield, MA – J. Cameron “Cam” McNeill will be remembered by many for his love to joke, his generosity and his big heart for people and nature all around him. Born in Edmonton Canada, Cam passed peacefully at the age of 70 on May 20th after a brave fight post heart attack and complications after. A big thank you goes out to all the staff at BSMC and friends and family who were there along his path.
Cam graduated from a 2-year electrician college in Edmonton. He then went on to work in many capacities at Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home, eventually being the Administrator for several years. He has run many successful businesses over the years, served for years on his Town Council and many will miss him.
His biggest love was the Oxbow Water Ski Show Team which he was instrumental in for over 40 years. He went from expert show skier to highly skilled boat driver, towing upwards of 20 skiers at once in intricate patterns. He was a water ski show ski judge regionally, nationally and even taught clinics in China.
He loved sailing since attending a childhood sailing school. He spent the last 9 years sailing in Rhode Island and The Virgin Islands, making many friends along the way.
Cam had an enormous love and bond with nature, whether with horses or the many wild animals around his property.
He had a big love of music and played piano, guitar and was an excellent harmonica player, often joining on stage with the occasional band.
Cameron is predeceased by his father and mother, George and Margaret McNeill. He is survived by his sisters Jan, Laurie and Kathryn, brother in laws Frank, Doug and David, nieces & nephews Jamie, John, Abigail & Elliot, as well as four loving stepchildren and many friends.
Our hearts are filled with gratitude for knowing this selfless, caring, spiritual, hardworking, humble and brave man and the stories will live on of our wonderful Brother to all.
