Sebring, FL – Ray Liimatainen 83 passed away June 26, 2026.
He was predeceased by his parents Reino and Louise Liimatainen, his wife Karen, siblings Robert, Claire, Eric, Don and Shirley.
Known as Ray “Rupp” in the 70’s when he sold Rupp snowmobiles and challenged many friends to see whose sled was the fastest.
Ray owned Ray’s Auto Body in Goshen for many years until he decided to build a 9 hole golf course on his property in Goshen. He built HillTop Golf Links over a few years by himself with a lot of hard work and thought. A lot of local residents and fellow golfers enjoyed the challenging little course and hanging out with Ray and Karen.
He needed a new project after the finishing the course, so he started making beautiful acoustic guitars in the barn and in Florida. Ray and Karen retired to Sebring, Florida.
Ray leaves behind his daughter Lisa, son Mark, his grandchildren Hannah and Heath Marney, brother Richard and several nieces and nephews.
