Heat waves? Unhealthy air from wildfires? We had better get used to it.
This is the leading edge of climate change. As we continue to burn fossil fuels — the gas in your car, the oil the administration drills for and fights wars for — it’s only going to get worse.
In a sane world, we would be making heroic efforts to transition to renewable energy. And while each of us can do what we can, we must demand that our leaders do better. At city, state, and national levels, climate should be the priority. No more subsidies, no more pipelines; more solar, more wind, more energy efficiency. Call, vote, protest. There is no time to waste.
