Bruce F. Tolda

Williamsburg, MA – We are heartbroken to share that Bruce Tolda, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother died at home surrounded by his family on August 24th after a valiant journey with glioblastoma brain cancer.

We are grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers over the past months and the incredible generosity, care and support of so many, many friends. We will all miss him beyond belief.

Bruce was born on April 20, 1954 in New York City to Joan and Faust Tolda. He grew up and went to school on Long Island. He moved to Western Massachusetts in 1977 and immediately loved the area. He and his business partner started a successful commercial painting company and owned Northampton Paint Center for decades.

Bruce was the epitome of a hard worker. He was an avid cyclist, guitarist, cook, gardener and world traveler but most of all he cherished his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Carol(Chi Chi)Carson, two daughters, Shanti Zilich (Chris Zilich) and Giovanna Tolda; a son, Dylan Carson (Phoebe Zimmermann); brother Anthony Tolda; three grandsons, Ozbourne Carson, Sebastian Zilich, and Luka Zilich; and granddaughter, Giulia Ruth.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Bruce’s lifelong love of good food and cooking… please consider a donation to Manna Community Kitchen in Northampton, Mass. or your local food bank or to The New England Peace Pagoda in Leverett, Mass. in honor of his long standing commitment and generosity towards their work.
