GRANBY – Granby Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a tow truck driver who allegedly assaulted a woman he picked up in Holyoke on the night of March 29.
The alleged assault occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. after the man drove the woman to Granby. Police described the tow truck as a white flatbed with unspecified red lettering. The driver is described as a heavyset white man, approximately 35 to 45 years old, 5-feet 7-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall with brown hair, light colored eyes and a heavy smoker.
The tow truck was carrying a dark-colored vehicle on its flatbed at the time of the incident, according to police.
“It’s not someone who was requesting a tow, I can tell you that,” Granby Police Chief Alan Wishart said of the alleged victim. He said police could not provide further details while authorities investigate.
Granby Police are working with the Massachusetts State Police and Holyoke Police to identify and locate the suspect.
