EASTHAMPTON — The City Council is seeking to fill an at-large council seat vacated by former councilor Owen Zaret, who resigned from his post earlier this month amid a request for censure by the School Committee.
The new councilor-at-large will serve for the remainder of the term, through December. All those interested in being considered for this post should submit a letter to the City Clerk’s office by noon on Monday. The application letter should include relevant experience and state interest in serving the community.
Following the collection of applications, a special City Council meeting will be held on Wednesday. At this meeting, applications will be reviewed, prospective candidates will be met with, and a vote will be made on the appointment.
For additional information, contact the City Clerk’s office at 413-529-1400, extension 460.
