CUMMINGTON — Voters returned several incumbents to elected positions last week, and filled out the ballot with write-ins where needed.

Sixty-three voters turned out for the annual town election, Town Clerk Brenda Emerson-Camp reported. Among write-ins, Emily Loux received the most votes with 37 for the third three-year seat on the Recreation Committee. Incumbents Donna Forgea and Amy Grallert were re-elected to their seats.

With two vacant five-year seats on the Planning Board, Laura Sheridan and Lyle Hazel received the most write-in votes with nine apiece. John Bye and Peg Cowen received one vote each. Write-ins can choose or decline to accept the position.

Others elected (three-year seats unless otherwise noted) were Brian Gilman, Select Board; Troy Howes, Finance Committee (one year); Scott Keith, Maureen Tumenas, Finance Committee; John G. Earls, Board of Health; Karen Howes, assessor; Joshua Wachtel, moderator; Sharon Cunningham, vocational school committee; Joyce Weirnasz, almoner of charitable funds; Amanda Savoie, commissioner of trust funds; Tomasz Jaracz, water commissioner; John Maruskin, Bryant Library trustee; Allan Douglas, Mikaela Mennen, Municipal Light Plant Board.
