With the postseason officially underway throughout western Massachusetts, the Hampshire Regional softball team felt right at home on Monday.

The defending champion Raiders opened their title defense in fine fashion, as Ryanne Dubay tossed a six-inning no-hitter to lift No. 2 Hampshire to a 12-0 win over No. 7 Wahconah in a Western Mass. Class B quarterfinal game in Westhampton.

Dubay struck out seven and walked just one in the no-hit outing. Her sister, Raegan Dubay, provided an offensive punch with a home run as part of a three-RBI day, while Ashley Cortis and Teagan Charles smacked three hits apiece. CC Thayer and Rachael Hickox added two hits apiece as Hampshire outhit the Warriors by a 15-0 margin.

Hampshire will host No. 6 Frontier in the semifinal round on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

No. 6 Frontier 9, No. 3 South Hadley 3 – Olivia Machon had three hits to lead the Redhawks, which built an early lead and held off the Tigers on Monday in South Hadley.

Ashley Taylor tossed a complete-game outing for Frontier (two strikeouts, five walks), which received two hits apiece from Gabby Adams and Sophia Pinardi. Taylor added a hit and two RBIs.

South Hadley’s Ella Schaeffer and Sophia Butler each had three hits to pace the hosts, and Ara Powers added two hits. Schaeffer struck out 13 in complete-game effort.

Class D quarters

No. 4 Hopkins 10, No. 5 Monson 9 – It was a wild quarterfinal tilt in Hadley on Monday, as Alayna Bailey’s walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh helped the Golden Hawks rally from a 9-7 deficit to advance to the Class D semifinals.

Cassidi Mushenski also came through with a clutch hit in the three-run bottom of the seventh. She had two hits and scored three runs.

Monson scored six runs in the top of the first inning to set the tone, but Hopkins answered with three in the home half and four more in the second to take a 7-6 lead. A three-run top of the third enabled the Mustangs to re-take a 9-7 advantage, which held until the bottom of the seventh.

Hopkins will play at top-seeded Turners Falls on Friday night at 6 p.m. in the semifinal round.

Baseball

Class D quarters

No. 3 Hopkins 3, No. 6 Monson 0 — Liam Flynn (one hit) was nearly untouchable on the mound, and at one point he retired 18 in a row to give the Golden Hawks a playoff win on Monday.

Beau Elson cranked a solo home run and a double, James Fitzgibbons tallied an RBI single and JJ Scanlon-Dean recorded a two-hit day to power Hopkins’ offense. The Golden Hawks take on No. 2 Ware on the road at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the semifinals.

No. 1 Pioneer 10, No. 8 Granby 0 (5) — The Rams were limited to just three hits throughout Monday’s quarterfinal matchup in Northfield, and they ultimately fell to the Panthers in five innings.

Non-playoff games

 Softball

Northampton 20, Holyoke 11 – Caroline Riordon went 4-for-6 at the plate, driving in five runs for the Blue Devils in a non-playoff win. Sasha Rodriguez, J ani Gotay, Haly Doucette-Kaplan, and Ella Daillie each collected multiple hits for Northampton.

Kylie Blaha had a home run and drove in four runs for Holyoke, while Alexis LeTellier had two hits and drove in four runs.

Smith Voc 21, Smith Academy 18 – Makayla Tatro was 5-for-5 with three home runs and five RBIs, as the host Vikings won a slugfest in Northampton on Monday.

Vanessa Antil had four hits, including a triple for Smith Voc, while Daelin Murdock and Jennifer Bouchard had three hits apiece.

Smith Academy’s Emma Tisdell had a hit, three runs and two RBIs. Anna Scagel scored three while Alexa Jagodzinski doubled, scored twice and drove in three runs.

Baseball

Amherst 13, Chicopee 6 – Neil Cunniffe and Elijah Rubinstein each collected three hits for Amherst on Monday. Spencer Waite added two hits in the win.

Rubinstein earned the win, allowing three hits and six runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking six.

Gateway 7, Sci-Tech 5 – Jacob Maynard tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts as the Gators kept their state tournament hopes alive with a non-playoff win on Monday.

Maynard and Weston Anderson had two hits apiece for Gateway, which scored two runs in the top of the seventh to break a 5-5 tie.

Girls lacrosse

South Hadley 20, Monson 7 – Four goals apiece from Raquel Losty and Ava Asselin helped power the Tigers to a decisive win on Monday.

Eliana Britton scooped up 10 ground balls to go with two goals and an assist, while Margaret Watkins had a monster outing with five goals, five ground balls and 14 draw controls.

Mount Greylock 23, Granby 9 – Kalli White scored six times for the Rams, while goalie Faith Ramos made 11 saves. Kelly-Lynne Kennedy racked up 11 draw controls for Granby.

Amherst 18, Chicopee 5 — A huge 10-point night from Talia Sadiq (eight goals, two assists) propelled the ‘Canes to an easy win.

Francesca Sloan and Kiko Bhowmik also netted three goals apiece for Amherst as it held a 10-3 halftime lead and poured it on in the second.

Hampshire 16, McCann Tech 2 — Reagan Mott’s double hat trick helped the Raiders rout the Hornets on Monday. Eight different Hampshire players scored in the win.

Mary Thibeault (three) and Ryleigh Fennessy (two) tallied multiple goals as well.

Boys lacrosse

East Longmeadow 17, South Hadley 6 — Five different Spartans’ players scored two or more goals as they were too much for the Tigers to handle on Monday.

South Hadley dropped to 5-11 with the loss to wrap up its regular season.

Girls tennis

Chicopee Comp 3, South Hadley 2 – Yanna Stefoglo won at No. 2 singles for the Tigers, notching a 6-2, 6-2 win, while the second doubles pairing of Grace O’Shea and Maddie Soderbaum picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win.

South Hadley 3, Agawam 2 – Stefoglo made it 2-for-2 in the nightcap of a doubleheader, while Soderbaum moved into the No. 3 singles spot and also earned a win. O’Shea and Shaye Mazlarz also picked up a win at second doubles for SH.

Frontier 3, Renaissance 2 — Hashini Ratnatunge won in No. 1 singles (6-2, 3-6, 6-4) and Ella Sibley took No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-1) in the Redhawks’ win in South Deerfield Monday. 

Esther Ehle and Kayla Fagan closed out the win with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph in No. 2 doubles. 

Ludlow 3, Holyoke 2 – Ava Tellier and Kelsey Brainard were 7-5, 6-0 winners at No. 1 doubles for the Knights, while Jelanie Camacho and Cameryn Valentin notched a 6-1, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Late weekend results

Girls lacrosse

Wahconah 14, Granby 11 — Brenna Moreno (one assist), Mylin Laliberte and Kalli White each netted three goals for the Rams in a loss on Sunday.

Ava-Elizabeth Loughman and Kelly-Lynne Kennedy both added a goal as well, while Faith Ramos stopped 13 shots in goal. During Granby’s loss to South Hadley on Friday, White, a freshman, tallied her 100th point of the season as she continues a record-breaking campaign.

Baseball

Easthampton 5, South Hadley 3 (8) — It took an extra frame, but the Eagles drove in two runs in the eighth to defeat the Tigers on Friday evening.

Jake Kostek recorded two hits, two runs and an RBI while Christopher Gallagher and Ethan Mullaly each had RBI hits for Easthampton. Topher Reardon struck out 11 in 7 1/3 innings of work before Mullaly came in to shut the door on South Hadley.

The Tigers offense was led by Gavin Carpenter’s two hits and a run, and John Viola tacked on an RBI double while Ryan Netkovick added an RBI single. Viola got the start, going five innings and striking out five.

Softball

Granby 29, Chicopee 12 — Seven different Rams players scored at least three times as a 12-run seventh inning propelled them to nearly 30 runs in a win over the weekend.

Kaitlyn Curran (single, double, four runs, four walks, RBI), Katie Grabherr (two singles, two runs, two RBIs) and Meredith Bartosz (single, two walks, four runs) led the way for Granby.

Girls tennis

Minnechaug 4, Amherst 1 — Emma Learned-Miller picked up the lone win for the ‘Canes on Friday evening, defeating Minnechaug’s Lilli DiGrande 6-0, 6-2.
