I was baffled and confused by the March 14 article about the Hatfield Housing Board and the criticisms launched against Chris Smith of Prospect Street in Hatfield [”Hatfield Housing Authority board presses for removal of ‘toxic’ member”].

This bore no resemblance to the man I know. The Christopher Smith I know is a kind, respectful, principled and intelligent person. He has been there through the thick and thin for me and mine, and someone I can rely on to do what he says he will do. Chris has assisted my on home projects, attended funeral and celebrations, and be counted on for either a wise word, some relevant history, and a bit of humor when appropriate.

As well, I would expect him to be an attribute to any public (or private) group he is involved in.
