WILLIAMSBURG — Two newcomers won election to local offices and a vacancy remains to be filled on the local school committee following recent local elections, Town Clerk Brenda Lessard reported.
With 245 voters, or 11.4% of the electorate, casting votes, Alan “Jody” Nishman was elected to a two-year seat on the Finance Committee, and Sarah Crowther will join the Hampshire Regional School Committee.
There were no contested elections on the ballot, and no official candidate for a three-year seat on the local school committee with incumbent Marissa Nye stepping down.
Lessard said eight people — including herself — received one vote each for the seat. She said she’s not interested, and she was working to contact the other seven to see if anyone wants to fill the vacancy.
Incumbents returning to office (three-year positions unless noted) are: William Sayre, Select Board; Eric Cerreta, Charles Dudek and Julia Peters, Finance Committee; Denise Bannister, assessor; Gordon Luce, Board of Health; Joan Coryat and Kenneth Borden, library trustees; Collin Black, Recreation Commission; Eric Weber, Cemetery Commission; James Packard, Water/Sewer Commission; Kayla Solomon, moderator (one year); and Richard Kisloski, elector, Oliver Smith Will (one year).
