Down two going into the bottom of the seventh, the Northampton softball team never made an out turning four hits and an error into three runs and a walk-off 7-6 win over Longmeadow, Wednesday.
Emilia Pelis led off the seventh with a single and Zoe Driscoll-Sbar followed with a two-run home run to right-center to cap her four-hit, three-run, three-RBI senior day, tying the game 6-6.
Abby Pelis singled and Amanda Mieczkowski reached on an error. Jill McGrath completed the rally with walk-off single down the left field line, plating Pelis.
Anna Kerwood allowed six hits and survived a hit-batter and eight errors behind her to earn the win. Seven of the miscues came in Longmeadow’s six-run third inning.
Granby 10, Palmer 1 — The Rams’ run toward a tournament berth continued with a third straight win in as many days.
Granby (9-9, 1-6 Bi-County East), which needed to win four of its five games this week, has to beat either South Hadley (3-16) on Thursday or Central (6-13) Friday to qualify. Both games are at 4 p.m. in Granby.
Kate Sullivan was 3-for-4 (double, triple) with four RBIs, while Kylie Biron was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
